Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction, also known as dental extraction or exodontia, is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. Tooth extraction at Elite Dental Clinic involves the following:
- Severe Tooth Decay: When tooth decay is extensive and has damaged a tooth beyond repair, extraction may be necessary.
- Gum Disease: Advanced gum disease can cause the supporting tissues and bone around a tooth to deteriorate, leading to the need for extraction.
- Crowded Teeth: Sometimes, teeth may need to be extracted to prepare the mouth for orthodontic treatment, such as braces.
- Impacted Wisdom Teeth: Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, may become impacted (unable to fully emerge from the gum) and cause pain, infection, or other dental problems.
- Fractured or Broken Teeth: Teeth that are severely fractured or broken may need to be extracted if they cannot be restored with other dental treatments.
